Generic NIC - DNS registry

The "generic NIC" project tries to gather in one place all the documents that could be useful for a new NIC (Network Information Center) that is starting up, or that is redesigning itself.

The most important output of the "generic NIC" project is this Web site. You will find on it three things:

1. A synthetic HOWTO that describes step-by-step the building of a registry. We try to update it and to keep it valid.
2. A set of sheets on various aspects of the management of a registry. The purpose of these sheets is to allow many external contributors to provide content. Unlike the HOWTO, they are not always maintained and can be outdated.
3. A set of services to test your domains, see its state, query whois, etc.
